This book is part of the AKUMASSA Chronicle Art Project which was held in North Lombok, describing the social background and culture in the Pemenang District, in particular, and North Lombok in general, as a starting point for framing a contextual theme regarding to the local issues in that area; also a comprehensive review of curatorial viewpoint about the process, the vision and mission of the project, and an explanation of the idea of a cultural approach (art) and community movement as empowerment strategies; as well as a reflection on the ideology of AKUMASSA as a community-based media education program itself. The purpose of this publication is none other than as a sustained effort of the Forum Lenteng in order to produce knowledges and to contribute to the development of insights and discourses of the community-based activism at the local level, while on a mission to disseminate them to the widest public.
